Description:

This interdisciplinary (non-biology major) course intertwines issues related to heredity and society. The focus is on human genetics, particularly single gene and complex genetic conditions. Consideration is also given to biotechnologies which relate to all organisms, especially those involved in agricultural genetics, and which emphasize the importance of "conservation in genetic design" in the evolutionaryprocess.
