In part I, the student will learn to improvise over basic jazz forms using major, minor and blues scales as well as seventh chords and their extensions. In part II, instrument-specifi c, studying historically-signifi cant solos, compositions and recordings, with emphasis on harmonic, melodic and rhythmic transcriptions.
