32 lecture + 32 laboratory hours....................................3 credit hours At the completion of this module, the student will understand the roles and responsibilities of a paramedic within the EMS system; apply the basic concepts of development, pathophysiology and pharmacology to assessment and management of emergency patients; be able to properly administer medications; communicate effectively with patients; and understand the medical/legal and ethical issues relating to EMS practice as well as the issues impacting the well being of the paramedic.
