The courses also seek to understand the challenges which all people, not just historians, face in reconstructing past events and evaluating them. Some possible lives to study include: Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Florence Nightingale, or Queen Elizabeth I.
