Effects of radiation exposure on biological systems. Includes typical medical exposure levels, methods for measuring and monitoring radiation, and methods for protecting personnel and patients from excessive exposure. Radiation interactions, radiosensitivity, radiation dose/ response relationships, and early/late radiation effects will be discussed. Prerequisites: RADR 1313, RADR 2305 and BIOL 2402. Completion of RADR curriculum with 75% or higher in all RADR courses is required. Three lecture hours. Total contact hours: 48. Credit: Three semester hours.
