This course is an introduction to exceptional learners and the range of special needs these learners possess. The development of individualized educational plans and the characteristics, prevalence, causes and prevention, assessment, and teaching strategies for the exceptional learner will be addressed. Case studies are used for the practical application of planning for the exceptional learner. Prerequisite: ED213 and admission to the Education Department
