(Spring - course offered every year) The second of a 2-part laboratory course in Biochemistry, this advanced course is designed to prepare students for graduate study and careers in the fields of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. A collection of laboratory exercises designed to provide practical exposure to techniques in advanced enzyme kinetics & inhibition, structural biochemistry using mass spectrometry & NMR, and techniques in protein expression, purification & analysis, as well as molecular modeling techniques. Three laboratory hours per week. Prerequisites: BIO 110, 151, 251, CHE 111, 141, 112, 142, 221, 241, 222, 242, BIO/CHE 436, 446. Corequisite: BIO 438.
