(Fall, Course Offered Every Year) A course in the comparative morphology of protochordates and vertebrates. The sequence of study includes protochordate origin, vertebrate origin, vertebrate diversity, early embryology, and the comparative morphology of vertebrate organ systems. The evolutionary and developmental history of vertebrates will be of major importance. Three lectures per week. Prerequisites: BIO-110, BIO-151. Corequisite courses: BIO-345.
