(Spring, Course Offered Every Year) Building upon principles established in instrumentation, students engage in a more in-depth examination of orchestral practices of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries with special emphasis on the study of blend, balance, and timbre within the orchestra. Techniques of transcription and arranging for the secondary level school orchestra and wind ensemble are included. Prerequisites: MUS-304.
