Topics include French colonization, Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese nationalism, the 1946-1954 war between the French and the Vietminh, the Cold War policies of the United States, escalating United States intervention in Vietnam, the United States's war in Vietnam (1965-1973), the fall of Saigon, domestic opposition to the war within the U.S.A., and postwar legacies of the conflict.
