(Varies, Contact Department Head) This course presents the religious philosophy, practices and cultural developments of Buddhism from 6th century BCE India to present-day America. In the course of this study, we will examine Buddhist ideas about the nature of existence, the basis of knowledge, the nature and path to salvation, psychology, ethics, aesthetics, gender and mind-body issues. Prerequisite: One 100-level Religion course, or by permission of the instructor.
