Utilization of the nursing processin the assessment and management of the childbearing family. Emphasis on the bio- psycho-socio-cultural needs of the familyduring the phases of pregnancy, childbirth, and the neonatal period including abnormal conditions. The student will utilize critical thinking and a systematic problem-solving approach to plan for the basic care needs of the childbearing family during the prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. The student will also integrate the teaching needs of the childbearing family into the plan care. Skills: P Prerequisites: VNSG 1510 and VNSG 2462. Corequisites: VNSG 1219, VNSG 1234 and VNSG 2463.
