Principles and concepts of mental health, psychopathology, and treatment modalities as these relate to the nursing care of clients and their families. Topics will include knowledge, judgement, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. This course is in the Texas Field of Study for Nursing. Prerequisites: Admission to ADN Program, BIOL 2402, PSYC 2314, RNSG 1114, 1205, 1300, 1413, 1201, 1341, 1260, 1251, 1161 OR RNSG 1300, 1327, 1162 (LVN-T only). Students must be co-enrolled in RNSG 2160 clinical component. Offered in summer only. Two theory hours per week. Credit: Two semester hours.
