Introduction to the science of pharmacology. Emphasis on the actions, interactions, adverse effects, and nursing implications of each drug classification. Topics include the roles and responsibilities of the nurse in safe administration of medications within a legal/ethical framework. Prerequisite: Admission to the ADN Program or administrative approval; BIOL 2402, RNSG 1114, 1205, 1300, 1413. Two theory hours per week. Credit: Two semester hours.
