The second of a two-course sequence designed to teach the influencing skills. Emphasis will be placed on the acquisition of skills that will enable the student to individualize effective counseling strategies directed at overcoming resistance and facilitating positive change, personal healing and freedom. This course is practice-oriented, allowing the student to integrate skills and knowledge vital for effective Christ-centered counseling. Central to this course is the development of a personalized relating and influencing style which can be applied to a wide range of situations in ministry and community, as well as professionally. Teaching methods include lectures and discussions, live practice and analysis of video recordings. Prerequisite: CSG 313.
