This is a study of the application of business and managerial principles to the establishing and operating of a small business in today's dynamic environment. Special emphasis is given to the entrepreneur, process entry strategies, market opportunities and threats, sources of capital and funding, legal and tax issues, operations, record keeping, growth challenges, and buying or selling a business. Students will select a product or service and prepare a comprehensive business plan for starting a small business. Prerequisites: MAN 213.
