This course is designed to stimulate critical thinking concerning the teaching profession and the role of the elementary music teacher as an integral element in the musical, aesthetic, intellectual, and socio-emotional development of the elementary child. This course will prepare students with competencies necessary to creatively formulate, plan, effectively teach, and evaluate a thorough elementary music program using content specified by NASM and Georgia curriculum standards (QCC's). Directed field-based experience is a critical element embedded in this course. Prerequisite: None.
