Description: Principles of gathering, researching and writing the news for students interested in journalism and those who expect to interact with journalists professionally. Press releases, news leads and features and techniques for successful interviewing. Surveys critical and ethical challenges facing today's journalist; explores business news, media reviews and comment writing, editing and page design, and how computer technology is changing investigative reporting.
