Topics include molecular orbital and hybrid orbital theory and bonding, chemical energetics, alkanes, alkenes, haloalkanes, alcohols, alkynes, dienes, stereochemistry, and classes of reactions and reaction mechanisms. Laboratory includes basic techniques in organic chemistry and computer based molecular modeling. First half of sequence with Chemistry 211. Prerequisite: Chemistry 111.
