Preparation for the elementary school teacher as a music leader in the classroom and as an assistant to the music specialist. Includes curriculum guidelines; basic music and note reading skills; sight-singing; simple accompanying skills on piano and guitar; teaching of singing techniques; the use of the recorder, autoharp, xylophones, and percussion instruments; the contributions of Gordon, Orff, Kodaly, Dalcrose and Suzuki to classroom music.
