Hands-on introduction to scene design and production. Overview of the history of scene design with emphasis on the process of creating a set from designer drawings and elevations. Research, sketching, drafting, model building, color application, and actual set construction within a budget. Students required to understand and use all of the equipment in the theater as it pertains to the design. Work with the play's director using the Mitchell Performing Arts Center as the classroom. Final project is the set for the College play. Course may be repeated for credit. 3 Credits. Winter. N. Haus-Roth
