Examines the role of religion in Greek and Roman society. Introduction to various methodological approaches to the study of ancient religions. Consideration of the development of early Christianity and Judaism. Topics include sacrifice, gods and heroes, festivals, myth, oracles and divination, temples, and mystery cults. 3 Credits.
