study of a single author or selected authors connected by a theme or historical movement in British literature. Readings from primary texts as well as literary criticism relevant to those texts lead to a focused research project. Possible seminar topics could include: children in Blake and Dickens, Modernist Writers in the 1930s; Larkin and the Movement Poets, novels of empire and return. Prerequisite: ENGU 101 or equivalent.
