Specifically designed for the non-science major. Emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of environmental issues. Basic scientific concepts of ecological theory are related to economic, political, and philosophical factors that influence environmental problems and their solutions. Lab concentrates on the interconnectedness of biotic and abiotic influences on ecosystem health using basic sampling and analytical techniques in local environments. Three hours lecture.
