An introduction to Molecular Biology. Topics include DNA replication, transcription, translation, regulation of gene expression, molecular evolution and recombinant DNA technology. Interspersed laboratory sessions include isolation and characterization of DNA and RNA, cDNA cloning, gene expression and bioinformatics. Three hours including lecture and lab. Prerequisites: BIOU 201, BIOU 217, and CHEMU 216 or Instructor's permission. Lab Fee; see fee schedule.
