Includes vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfl y needles and blood culture, and specimen collection on adults, children, and infants. Emphasis on infection prevention, proper patient identifi cation, labeling of specimens and quality assurance, specimen handling, processing, and accessioning.
