This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student profi ciency. Structure of ASL? CA general introduction to the scientifi c study of language structure, history, and use. Topics include spoken and signed language; the structure of sounds/signs, words, sentences, and meanings; language in culture and society; language change over time; language acquisition and processing; and variations in the structure of ASL will be studied according to region, social class, ethnicity, age and sex.
