This course will introduce students to the field of virology. Upon completion of the course the student should have a basic understanding of the general structure and molecular biology of viruses, the classification of viruses, the interaction of viruses with their host cells and viral diseases. Prerequisites: Genetics and General Microbiology. Offered in the Spring Semester of oddnumbered years. 3 hours lecture - 3 credits
