This course studies the music of each period of history. Illustrations from the works of the great composers are presented to assist in the establishment of criteria for evaluating the music. One field trip is taken to The Philadelphia Academy of Music for the purpose of studying the orchestra in a rehearsal setting. This course also examines painting, sculpture, and architecture in history to increase the student's ability to interpret and appreciate works of art.
