Prerequisite: ANT 105 or 207 or consent of instructor. The entry of humans into North America and South America will be examined using archaeological data. Other topics include the post-Pleistocene expansion of big game hunters, woodland hunter-gatherers, and the development of agricultural societies. Diffusion versus independent invention will be considered.
