Provides the preparation for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-Basic. Includes all the skills necessary to provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an emergency service or other specialized services. A grade of "C" or better is required in this course to take the next course. Prerequisite: READ 0309 (can be taken concurrently) or by placement exam. Corequisite: EMSP 1160. (3:7). Lab fee. Professional Practice Insurance required.
