An explorationof guidance strategies for promoting prosocial behaviors with individual and groups of children. Emphasis on positive guidance principles and techniques, family involvement and cultural infl uences. Practical application through direct participation with children. Three hours per week of supervised fi eldwork with young children is required. Offered in Spring. Insurance Fee: $13.50 Prerequisites: TECA 1311 (or CDEC 1311), DEVR 0303 and DEVW 0403 or satisfactory score on appropriate placement test. Corequisites: DEVR 1303 and DEVW 1403 or satisfactory score on appropriate placement test. Student must be eligible for fi eld experiences by passing a criminal background check through the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and meet the Child Development Department's policies for fi eld experiences.
