Astudy of age appropriate child care programs for children 5 to 13 years old. Topics covered include an overview of school age development, developmentally appropriate environments, activities, planning and teaching techniques appropriate for school age children. Weekly observations of school age children are required. Offered in Spring. Insurance Fee: $3.50 Prerequisites: DEVR 0303 and DEVW 0403 or satisfactory score on appropriate placement test. Student must be eligible for fi eld experiences by passing a criminal background check through the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and meet the Child Development Department's policies for fi eld experiences.
