The aim of this course is to understand the history and the culture of the great indigenous cultures of Mexico. The focus is on the Nuhuas (Aztecs) and Mayans, who built the great ancient civilizations, endured centuries of colonial domination, and still managed to hold on to their language and their culture into the 21st century.
