An exploration ofprinciples, methods, and materials for teaching young children language and literacy through a play-based, integrated curriculum. Three hours per week of supervised fi eldwork with young children is required. Offered in Fall. Insurance Fee: $13.50 Prerequisites: TECA 1311 (or CDEC 1311) and CDEC 1413 (or concurrent enrollment in CDEC 1413) and DEVR 0303 and DEVW 0403 or satisfactory score on appropriate placement test. Student must be eligible for fi eld experiences by passing a criminal background check through the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and meet the Child Development Department's policies for fi eld experiences.
