This capstone seminar for International Studies seniors is also open to other seniors with permission of the instructor. The course will be organized around a core set of readings on one broad international topic, in Fall 2007, Global Cities. Students will define an individualized research program, building on their previous course work in International Studies, share readings and findings with fellow seminar students, and produce a final paper and oral presentation. Prerequisite: IST 200. (NW) Gasbarrone In Fall, 2008, Franklin & Marshall will introduce a 4-year Modern Standard Arabic language sequence, adding one level each year. A teaching assistant will work with the instructor to expand students' exposure to both the language and the culture of Arabicspeaking countries. The timing of the course offerings permits students to move through the sequence in six consecutive semesters.
