Description:
Continued development of contemporary Mandarin listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in a cultural context, including continued practice in reading and writing characters. Prerequisite: CHN 271 or permission of instructor. Yao Franklin & Marshall offers four years of Japanese language instruction, with more advanced study available on a tutorial basis. Many students of Japanese also participate in our summer and semester study abroad programs at Tohoku Gakuin University, Sendai, Japan. An Area Studies minor in Japanese may be arranged in consultation with Professor Lisa Gasbarrone, Director of International Studies, and Ken Miura, Director, Japanese Language Program.
