The critical emphasis will be on feminist theory and the political, social, and cultural background of the times. Among others, we will read works by Margaret Atwood, Toni Morrison, Sylvia Plath, Adrienne Rich, Anne Sexton, Edith Wharton, and Virginia Woolf. Same as ENG 233. Hartman
