Description:
Today's efforts to reform the teaching of mathematics will be examined in an historical context. Both the history of mathematics education and the history of mathematical thought will be explored. The great thinkers and their contribution to mathematical thought will be highlighted. The implications of various worldviews, including a Christian worldview, concerning the nature of mathematics and mathematics pedagogy will be examined. Spring semester. Corequisites: EDU 382 and requirements as mandated by Chapter 354. Cross-listed as MAT 380.
