This course is designed for Deaf students and taught in American Sign Language. Course emphasizes using standard English grammar in writing paragraphs and short essays. Introduction of parts of speech. Study of simple and progressive verb tenses and modal auxiliaries. Practice in writing simple and compound sentences, using transitional expressions and punctuation. Exposure to and practice with different modes of writing. This course is not for college-level credit. Repeatable for up to six credit hours. Prerequisites: Placement in the course by the ESOL Assessment or the Compass Test. Course Type: D
