Provides a continuation of the software and hardware requirements to be able to communicate across a network. Topics include an introduction to routing technology, routing theory and router configuration including RIP and IGRP routing protocols, distance vector and link state routing theory, routing loop issues, routing concepts, TCP/IP basics, IP addressing, security, and basic router configuration. Discussion, laboratory assignments, skills-based assessment, and presentations are required. Prerequisite: IT 250. Spring, $40 fee, 3 hours demonstration, discussion, and hands-on assignments, 3 credits.
