Introduces the various properties and classifications of types of soil. Acquaints the student with laboratory procedures to illustrate these principles by performing laboratory analyses, mathematical problems, and making observations from demonstrations and experiments. Provides the student with an understanding of soil as a component of the ecosystem and how to apply this knowledge to fully understand its impacts on ecosystems. Prerequisites: CHEM 105 and PHSC 201. Fall, $100 fee, 3 hours lecture and discussion, 3 credits.
