(The course will introduce the fundamentals of budgeting, financial records, and the distribution of films. Starting with a brief historical review of the American film industry, the course will describe the major film corporations and their subsidiaries and the rise of the independent film industry. Additional topics include basic accounting issues, marketing concepts, distribution, advertising, the Internet, publicity, finding a distribution partner, negotiation tactics and strategies, and establishing a ‘paper trail’ for financial transactions.)
