Description:

This course explores the underlying theory and computational implementation of the finite element method. Students will gain an understanding of finite element formulations, understand how the formulations can be adapted to solve problems in a variety of engineering areas, develop computational tools needed to apply the finite element method, and apply these tools to engineering problems. Student-generated, instructor-supplied, and some commercial software will be employed throughout course. Prerequisite: Math 264, ES 230 Staff
