Guided by a member of the staff, the student writes a thesis in a specialized field. If at the end of the first semester the student's project appears to have honors potential, the student may apply to pursue graduation with honors. Upon satisfactory completion of the essay, the student takes an oral examination on the thesis and its historical field. Prerequisite: Hist 206 [W] Staff
