World War II was perhaps the greatest story, as well as the greatest catastrophe, in human history. This course tells the epic story of the war through the words of American soldiers, sailors, and airmen, as well as nurses, war correspondents, and innocent civilians caught in the ruin and agony of the world's first total war, a war fought without mercy or letup.
