The course provides a comprehensive study of financial accounting theory and financial accounting reporting and concentrates on the foundations of financial accounting and an in-depth study of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts. Emphasis will be on more complex financial accounting topics including revenue recognition, inventory and cost of goods sold, investments in non-current assets, equity financing, debt financing, and investments in debt and equity securities. Includes accounting research, written communication, and ethics elements. Prereq: ACCT& 202 or instructor permission.
