This course presents two major responsibilities of a medical assistant: accurate prioritizing of patients and good patient instruction. Instruction includes teaching basics and assessing patient learning and adapting techniques to each other's needs. Instruction topics presented here are explaining general office policies and providing general information, instructing patients in health maintenance, and teaching patients about disease prevention. Locating community resources for patients is another part of patient care that is presented here. Prereq: 2.0 GPA and permission.
