Course is open only to current NSCC Medical Assisting students who have completed all other coursework. This course gives the student the opportunity to practice (unpaid) Medical Assisting skills acquired in the program and gain valuable experience in the ambulatory healthcare setting. Students will also meet in a discussion format online for 11 hours during the quarter to share experiences and information. On the site, the student is supervised and guided by the extern site in performing various administrative and clinical skills as expected of an entry-level medical assistant. This course requires 198 unpaid hours in the clinical setting be completed. Permission required.
