This course addresses the scope of medical records from how to initiate a new patient chart to entering data in a chart. Legal aspects such as confidentiality are covered as well as various types of filing systems and types of reports filed in a medical record. This course also covers the first patient contact which includes the patient history and important information, initiating the patient medical record and charting methods. The components of a physical examination are also presented both from the assistant's perspective as well as the physician's role.
